Luca Toni thinks that the treatment of Stevan Jovetic by Fiorentina fans will see him leave this summer. The Montenegrin front-man is wanted by Arsenal, Manchester City and Juventus - but he has insisted he is looking at finishing the season with Fiorentina before deciding his future. But Jovetic has struggled for form in recent weeks and has not scored since the end of March - which has led to some criticism on the terraces. And Toni feels this will have an adverse effect on Jovetic. "Stevan feels the Fiorentina fans treat him without love," Toni told a press conference. "Everybody says that the player's struggles will end when he starts scoring again. "The way I see it in this difficult period is that Jovetic is only supported when he is making a difference on the field. At the moment, there is no enthusiasm towards him - he does not feel loved."
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas is keen for winger Gareth Bale to end speculation about his future by signing a new contract with the club. Bale, 23, collected the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year award on Thursday to go with the Player and Young Player of the Year awards given to him by the Professional Footballers' Association.
Gareth Bale's agent, Jonathan Barnett, has appeared on Marca TV to express his willingness to listen to an offer from Real Madrid for his client. Barnett, the chairman of the Stellar Group that represents Bale, said there had been no discussions as yet regarding a new contract at Tottenham Hotspur for the Wales international and he added that in his view, Bale was "worth more than Neymar … he's a better player than him." The Brazil forward has just completed a high-profile transfer from Santos to Barcelona. Barnett spoke on the Futboleros show late on Tuesday night and although he said that Bale had three years to run on his Tottenham contract, it felt worrying for the London club that he should discuss the forward's future on a TV station with close links to Real.
