Big Guns Activated for Mexico Clash

 

Super Eagles’ coach, Stephen Keshi has called up Chelsea duo of John Obi Mikel and Victor Moses for the international friendly match against Mexico on May 31 at the Reliant Stadium, Houston in the United States of America.
Twenty-three other players were also called for the tune-up game.
Keshi included 14 players from the winning squad of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
The reigning African champions are using the encounter to prepare for their two 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifying matches in June against Kenya and Namibia before travelling to Brazil to participate in the Fifa Confederations Cup.
Super Eagles will count on their English Premier League stars, Mikel and Moses to lead the assault against the Mexicans.

 
Others are Vincent Enyeama, Austin Ejide, Efe Ambrose, Kenneth Omeruo, Elderson Echiejile, John Ogu and 2013 Afcon hero, Sunday Mba among others.
Nigeria equally called up two players each from the German Bundesliga, Italian Serie A, Scottish Premier League and Portuguese Liga.
Mexico and Nigeria have met three times with a 1-0-2 record in favour of Mexico.
The two teams last met in October 2007 in an international friendly with the match ending in a 2-2 draw at the Estadio Olimpico Benito Juarez in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua.
