United Moyes eyes £30m Benz ... but Rooney could go
MANCHESTER UNITED are lining up Karim Benzema as a replacement for Wayne Rooney.
They will listen to £25million offers for Roo and use the cash towards a £30m bid for Real Madrid’s Benzema. But new boss David Moyes will thrash out Rooney’s future as his first priority at Old Trafford. The pair fell out over comments made in Rooney’s autobiography — but the rift healed some time ago.
Rooney would be happy to work for Moyes, who gave the striker his first-team chance as a 16-year-old at Everton.
Moyes has also praised Rooney’s maturity after receiving a call to apologise for their earlier bust-up.
