Napoli, City Ponder Cavani-Dzeko Swap
Serie A side Napoli are negotiating with Manchester City to swap their star striker Edinson Cavani for Edin Dzeko, Italian media reported on Tuesday.
"I was in London (Monday) to organise a film about Steve Jobs," Napoli president and film producer Aurelio De Laurentiis said.
"I sent (sports director Riccardo) Bigon to meet Manchester City to explore the possibility of a transfer of Cavani, as they have wanted him for several months. We must understand their possibilities. The requital is Dzeko."
The 27-year-old Bosnian forward, who played his third season with the Premier League club, would reduce the €63 million Napoli are demanding for Cavani.
The Uruguayan, 26, was the Italian league top scorer with 29 goals to help Napoli finish second - the same position that Manchester City occupied in the Premier League as Dzeko netted 14 goals.
It is believed that City could agree to a transfer fee of 45 million euros to close the deal.
De Laurentiis, who is seeking a new coach after the departure of Walter Mazzarri, denied having been in England to hire Spanish coach Rafael Benitez, the Europa League winner with Chelsea
