Moses, Uche to miss WC, Confed Cup ties

Super Eagles attacking midfielders, Victor Moses and Kalu Uche have opted out from the high-profile friendly game against Mexico on May 31 in Houston, the United States of America.
The duo will also be unavailable for the side crucial World Cup qualifying matches against Kenya and Namibia as well as the 2013 Fifa Confederations Cup tournament in June.
Uche claimed in a terse message to the head coach, Stephen Keshi that he has been playing with injury for sometime now in the Turkish league and on the advice of his doctor will be using the opportunity of the off-season to undergo treatment.
Chelsea ace, Moses, one of the best players of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa, is said to have dropped out in order to treat a recurring injury and will not be fit in time for the World Cup qualifiers and the ‘Festival of Champions.’
However, his club say he will be with the Chelsea squad for their pre-season tour of USA to be monitored closely by doctors but would not participate actively in the tour.
Keshi though not happy with the fact that the players did not inform him earlier of this development said he has quality players who will deliver the goods.
“We have the players to deliver the World Cup ticket and to make Nigerians proud in Brazil," he said.
